If you are coming from the West, you might check out this route: Click here for directions.  There are two fantastic roads on this route.  Hwy 118, north of Ft. Davis is one of the best roads in Texas. Hwy 170 follows the Rio Grande and is "one of a kind", but watch for livestock on the roadway.  While in Big Bend National Park, be sure to ride up to Chisos Mountain Lodge and, at least, stop for lunch. Santa Elena Canyon is also worth a side trip while in the park. This ride will easily take 2 days.
