The optional dinner Friday night will be at Elaine's Table in Hunt, TX.  Seating is limited, so reservations are mandatory.  E-mail me if you would like to have your name added to the list.  Elaine's is located on Hwy 39, immediately west of it's intersection with Hwy 1340.  Dinner time is 7:00PM.  For directions Click Here.

CAUTION!  Watch for animals on the roadway on your return to Kerrville.  The road from Hunt to Ingram follows the Guadalupe River and is a popular place for critters around sundown. (Note:  GPS coordinates are approximate.)

The YO Ranch in Mountain Home, TX will be the location of the Tour and Dinner on Saturday evening.  The Tour starts at 5PM and Dinner begins at 7PM (Reservations required for both).  Allow about an hour to get to the Ranch from the YO Resort Hotel.  Remember, the driveway is over 7 miles long, a little rough in spots and slow going.  At least, IT IS PAVED!  The entrance to the Ranch is located on Hwy 41, between Hwy 83 and Hwy 1340, is on the north side of 41 and there is a sign(?) with the YO brand.  For directions, Click Here!  (Note: GPS coordinates are approximate)

OK, this is what most of us come to the Hill Country for - twisty roads.  Recommend you do this early in the day because the traffic between Kerrville and Hunt can get heavy.  There is a great overlook on Hwy 83, a few miles after turning off 39.  Gas stops are some distance apart, so plan ahead (most stations have 93 octane).  Ranch 336, north of Leakey, has a number of cattleguards (some rough) and is open range -use caution and watch for LARGE animals in the road! Depending on when you start, you can stop for lunch at Vaquero Ranchhouse Cafe on the square in Rocksprings (NW corner) or at Lost Maples Cafe in Utopia. Caution!
